Supporting the COVID-19 Public Health Workforce
National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO)

Why This Project Mattered
NACCHO needed a set of tools to help local public health departments share COVID-19 messages more clearly. Our job was to create flexible, accessible designs that could support rural communities in outreach, emergency response, and vaccine education.

Approach and Delivery
We focused on making the designs clear, flexible, and easy to use. That meant strong typography, high contrast, and layouts that worked for both screen readers and visual users.
Our designs helped NACCHO deliver key messages with clarity and consistency. We focused on accessibility, local storytelling, and wide-scale communication.
Localized Community Engagement
Designed full-page profiles of rural health departments in Greene, Lewis, McNairy, and Tipton counties. These featured stories showed local leadership, lessons learned, and public health partnerships.

Data-Driven Public Health Messaging
Created print pieces that broke down complex COVID-19 information into clear, visual messages. These covered vaccines, emergency preparedness, and resilience.
Scalable Social Media Communication
Developed a toolkit of branded graphics to support NACCHO’s outreach across platforms. Templates promoted vaccine confidence, workforce development, and coalition efforts.

Reflections
The refresh focused on accessibility, clarity, and inclusivity, ensuring all materials are readable, visually cohesive, and reflective of diverse communities.
